Melbourne is an ever-growing and sprawling city and one of the best ways to take it all in is to get above, or slighly beyond the city fringe and see it from a birds eye view.
There’s plenty of places around the CBD to get amazing Melbourne views whether you want to splash out or do on a budget.

The obvious one to start with is the Eureka Sky Deck, located in Southbank, on the 88th floor of the Eureka Tower and offering 360˚ views of Melbourne. If you’re a thrill seeker, you can upgrade to step out onto ‘The Edge’ — a three-meter clear glass cube that suspends you a hair-rasing 300 meters above ground.

Our giant observation wheel, the Melbourne Star located in Docklands, gives you incredible and serene shifting views across the city as the wheel completes its 30-minute rotation. What’s great about the Star apart from the jaw-dropping views, is they also offer unique experiences, be it ‘Yoga in the Sky’, ‘Sparkling’ flights with wine and even Weddings!

A little more traditional, but with equally spectacular views is the Lui Bar. Sip in style with cocktails on the 55th floor in the heart of the city, by day or night it is equally dazzling. If you are in the mood for some fine dining, next door lives the famous Vue de Monde, one of Melbourne’s most iconic restaurants and you still get that million dollar view.

If you are up for a wander there are also plenty of free spots with incredible views over Melbourne. The Shrine of Remembrance offers an incredible vista from the Southside of the City. Or wander East or West a little way along the river from the city towards Birrarung Marr or Docklands and you’ll be rewarded with stunning views. Travelling a little further from Albert Park Lake or the seaside suburbs of Elwood, Brighton and Williamstown you’ll also get stunning and one-of-a-kind vistas.
This one is a little quirky but has to rate a mention on any Melbourne view list, is the bathrooms at Sofitel hotel. Well known amongst locals, visit the Atrium Bar on 35 for a glass of wine and treat yourself to some magnificent views with floor to ceiling windows across Melbourne when you visit the bathroom!

And lastly, of course we are a little biased, so we have to rate a mention on this list. Our Skyline Balcony Rooms offer incredible sweeping, 180 degree views across the Yarra River and Southbank out to Port Phillip Bay and the Dandenong Ranges. Imagine waking up to a sunrise, or sipping sundowners on your balcony with that view? Book via DoubleTree by Hilton Melbourne
We know there are many more incredible spots, so let us know your favourite Melbourne amazing views we missed.
